To dry a coating formed on a substrate uniformly by employing a pin member, pointed through R machining at the forward end of a substrate contact part in a tact transfer furnace for transferring a substrate sequentially on a plurality of transfer pins between transfer positions, for fixing and transferring operations.
A coated substrate is transferred by a right side side introduction unit 11 into a drying furnace 12 and carried out on a discharge conveyor 13 after being dried. The furnace 12 comprises five continuous drying stages 14-18 and the substrate is stopped for a specified time at each stage and dried. Coating is dried by heating the substrate by means of a heater 19 and the air sucked through a duct 20 and distributed to each stage 14-18 is fed through each filter 21 into the furnace. The air containing a volatile solvent is discharged through a duct 22 to the outside. Transfer pin members pointed through R machining ascend to transfer the substrate, stop at a specified position and then descend to deliver the substrate to fixed pins where the substrate is held in place.
