Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To give an UV-cut effect to a lens to a high degree, to improve dyeing property and to prevent contamination of a lens by impregnating a plastic lens substrate with an UV-cut treating liquid containing an UV-absorbent and a dyeing assistant and then dyeing the lens substrate in a dyeing bath.
SOLUTION: A plastic lens substrate is preliminarily impregnated with an UV-cut treating liquid containing an UV-absorbent and a dyeing assistant so as to improve the UV-cut effect and to permeate the dyeing assistant into the lens surface. Then the lens is dipped in a dyeing bath to attract the dye to the assistant and to promote adsorption of the dye to the lens. The UV- absorbent used is, for example, 2-hydroxybenzophenone. The UV-cut treating liquid is preferably prepared by dissolving 0.1-3wt.%, preferably 0.5-2wt.% UV absorbent and 0.3-3.0wt.% dyeing assistant in water.
