Abstract:
PURPOSE: To shorten the stroke of an actuator which rotates a mobile magnet supporting tube normally or reversely.
CONSTITUTION: An immobile guide tube consisting of a nonmagnetic substance is arranged inside a brake drum. Ferromagnetic plates 15 are fit in many openings provided at regular intervals in circumferential direction or the like at the peripheral wall of the guide tube. A mobile supporting tube 14 consisting of a magnetic substance and an immobile magnet supporting tube 14A are juxtaposed inside an inner tube. Magnets 24 and 24A shorter in circumferential direction than the ferromagnetic plate 15 are coupled with each magnet supporting tube 14 and 14A so that the polarities opposed to each ferromagnetic plate 15 may be opposed to each other. The mobile magnet supporting tube 14 is driven into the nonbraking position where the front margin 24a of the mobile magnet 24 accords with the front margin 15a of the ferromagnetic plate 15 and the braking position where the rear end of the mobile magnet 24 accords with the rear end margin 15b of the ferromagnetic plate 15, concerning the direction of rotation of a braking drum 7.
