Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase width rolling reduction by making the angle of bite between a rolled stock and a horizontal roll at the time of biting and to prevent a drop in the width of the tip.
SOLUTION: Two vertical rolls 14 for edge-rolling the rolled stock 13 is on standby in the state the roll gap is previously opened in the desired width length W2, the width part of the tip of the rolled stock which is transported is bitten into a prescribed thickness, next, the inclined edge-rolling for forming the length L2 of the inclined-shaped tip part is executed while the roll gaps is gradually closed as moved two vertical rolls in the approaching direction. When the desired length L2 is reached, the movement of the vertical rolls is stopped, the edge rolling of the rolled stock is executed into the prescribed width length by holding the prescribed roll gap in that state and the edge rolling is executed at the biting edge-rolling reduction larger than the ordinary reduction.
