Title:
ELECTRIC CLEANER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0549579
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To enable the raking up of dirt sufficiently and the preventing of damages to a carpet regardless of the type of the carpet by controlling the number of revolutions of a motor according to the condition of the surface of a floor surface.

CONSTITUTION: A sensor signal from a floor surface sensor 22 comprising a pressure sensitive electroconductive rubber is inputted into a microcomputer 36 and exchanged for a data with the microcomputer 36. The sensor data obtained is subjected to a pattern recognition by a neural network processing to obtain three kinds of judgment results--tatami mat and carpets short and long in piles. As for the tatami mat, a power brush 14 is turned OFF, as for the carpet short in piles, the power brush 14 is rotated at a low speed with the microcomputer 36 and a motor driver 40 and it is rotated at a high speed as for the carpet long in piles. This enables the setting the optimum number of revolutions of the power brush according to the type of the carpet.
