A rice cooking step relating to cooking risotto which is performed with a rice cooker 1, includes: a boiling step of heating an inner pot 10 with food to be cooked accommodated therein, with a first output by a work coil 64, until a first predetermined time T1 passes after the temperature of the inner pot 10 which is detected by a center sensor 66 reaches a first predetermined temperature t1; a pausing step of pausing the heating of the inner pot 10 by the work coil 64, until a second predetermined time T2 passes, after the end of the boiling step; and a steaming step of intermittently heating the inner pot 10 by the work coil 64 with a second output smaller than the first output, until a third predetermined time T3 passes, after the end of the pausing step.
