PURPOSE: To provide the electrode for corrosion prevention which protects backfill materials contg. a carbonaceous material and has excellent durability, applicatability and maintenance characteristic by coating the circumference of an insoluble metallic electrode sealed with the juncture to a flexible conductor against the outside world successively with the above-mentioned backfill materials and a metallic case which is dissolved by anodic polarization.
CONSTITUTION: The circumference of the inert electrode 5 which is connected to the flexible conductor 1 and in which the juncture is sealed by a powdery insulating material 9 is coated with the backfill material 12 contg. the carbonaceous material. The electrode 5 is formed by casting Ti, Zr or tough and corrosion resistant base body consisting of these metals with an electrode active material consisting of platinum group metals and/or the oxide thereof. The circumference of the above-mentioned backfill materials 12 is coated with the metallic case 13 which is dissolved by anodic polarization, by which the desired electrode for corrosion prevention is constituted. Metals consisting of, for example, iron, zinc, etc., and the alloys thereof are used as the material of the metallic case.
