Abstract:

To provide an electrodeposition coating method where air is hardly entangled when the object to be coated is dipped into an electrodeposition coating material bath, and an electrodeposition coating can be performed without leaving a trace of bubbles in a coating film (resin film) after the coating.

Before the object 1 to be coated is dipped into the bath of the electrodeposition coating material composed of an electrodepositable resin, an anti-foaming agent and water, the anti-foaming agent is stuck to the surface thereof. The anti-foaming agent to be stuck is alcohol, ethyleneglycol monoether or ethyleneglycol. After the sticking of the anti-foaming agent, the object 1 to be coated is dipped into the bath, and voltage is applied to each space between the object 1 to be coated and counter electrodes 6, thus an electrodepositable resin film is formed on the surface of the object 1 to be coated.
