To stabilize characteristics by preventing magnetic efficiency from being deteriorated and improving an attracting force of a yoke.
An electromagnetic relay 1 includes an armature 12 which is inserted into a coil block 11 in a freely slidable state and both ends of which protrude, a pair of yokes 13a, 13b disposed so as to oppose both surfaces of both ends of the coil block, a permanent magnet 14 held between the yokes 13a, 13b, a card 15 locked to the armature 12, a pair of movable springs 16a, 16b bridging the card 15, movable contacts 17a, 17b fixed to one-end sides of the movable springs 16a, 16b, respectively, and fixed contact points 18a, 18b disposed so as to oppose the movable contacts 17a, 17b. The yokes 13a, 13b are formed in U-plate shapes, and a residual plate RP comprising a non-magnetic stainless steel thin plate is fixed and united as a magnetic gap to one protruding end surface which sucks the armature 12.
