Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electron source which maintains its function, even if a row conductor short-circuits with a column conductor. SOLUTION: A display device 10 includes an electron source having a row conductor 17 using a plurality of longitudinal elements 26, 28. The longitudinal elements 26, 28 each have extraction parts 19, 23, extending from the longitudinal element concerned to the neighboring longitudinal element. The longitudinal elements 26, 28 are electrically connected to each other by a plurality of transverse connectors 29, 38, 39. If a short-circuiting occurs between the row 17 and columns 12, 36 situated therebelow, since a short-circuitted part can be electrically cut off and therefore the residual parts of this row maintain an operating state.
