Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner excellent in releasability, fixability, the smoothness of the surface of an image after fixation and the quality of an image projected by OHP.
SOLUTION: In an electrophotographic toner contg. a bonding resin and a colorant, a vinyl polymer contg. ≤20wt.% low mol.wt. component whose mol.wt. is 7,000, having a wt. average mol.wt. of 20,000-200,000 and contg. ≤60wt.% styrene units is used as the bonding resin. A roll with an elastic layer of a specified thickness as well as a developer contg. the resultant toner is used in a fixing unit and the top of an image forming substrate is coated with a specified amt. of a releasing agent before fixation.
