Title:
EMERGENCY STOP DEVICE BY AIR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH11180269
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide an emergency stop device using air pressure by an interlocking device from a driver's seat when a car falls into a slip state during driving on a snow-covered road, a frozen road, or the like.

An air tank, a bellows rubber bag and a brake arm are fitted to a car, and when an air valve lever is switched on at the time of emergency, a solenoid valve in the air tank is opened by an interlocking device from a driver's seat, so that air flows into the bellows rubber bag, and the brake arm fitted with a metal pin and rubber is pressed to the road surface by the pressure of air to stop the car by its frictional force. When the air valve lever is switched back off, air in the bellows rubber bag is let out, and the brake arm is put back into the original state by the contraction of a spring. The brake arm is repeatedly usable until air in the air tank runs out.
