Abstract:
To provide methods for treating diseases caused by protein retention in endoplasmic reticulum.SOLUTION: Provided is a method comprising obtaining a sarcoplasmic reticulum/endoplasmic reticulum calcium ATPase (SERCA) pump inhibitor encapsulated in a polymer nanoparticle, and administering to a subject an effective amount of the inhibitor, the polymer nanoparticle being surface modified to target the endoplasmic reticulum (ER), the effective amount of the inhibitor reducing protein retention in ER, the side effects of the inhibitor being reduced by encapsulation as compared to administration of the inhibitor without encapsulation.SELECTED DRAWING: None
