Abstract:
PURPOSE: To fix a purse-string suture on a human tissue by providing a staple body of which legs can be deformed, and providing the staple body with a means to slidably install the draw sewing yarn on a staple. CONSTITUTION: A staple 50 is a thin and long strip of a deforming material, it has a staple body having a strip in the form of a loop 52 at a center, and the loop 2 provides an opening or eyelet 54 to receive a purse-string suture 80. The staple body is provided with a pair of arms 56, 58, these are curved downward to form a pair of attached legs 64, 66, and they are inclined inward toward each other. The purse-string suture 80 is set through the eyelet 54 defined by the loop 52 to be slidably installed on the staple 50. As pressure is applied to outer parts 60, 62 to insert legs 64, 66 into a tissue 82, the arms 56, 58 are deformed, and the legs 64, 66 are moved to overlap with each other.
