Abstract:
To prevent erroneous determination relating to abnormality that an EGR valve is not completely full-closed regardless of various influences on detection of an engine operation state, and properly prevent engine stop in occurrence of abnormality.SOLUTION: An engine system includes a throttle device 14, an EGR device 10 (EGR valve 18), and an electronic control device (ECU) 50. The ECU 50 diagnoses abnormality caused by biting of foreign matter of an EGR valve 18, and a foreign matter diameter on the basis of an intake pressure detected by an intake pressure sensor 51 in decelerating an engine. Then the ECU 50 calculates difference between the foreign matter diameter and a prescribed learning determination value as a foreign matter diameter difference, when the presence of abnormality and the foreign matter diameter are determined, determines that the foreign matter diameter is excessive in a case when the foreign matter diameter difference is an abnormality determination value or more, and controls the throttle device 14 to prevent engine stop, continues engine deceleration when the foreign matter diameter difference is a normality determination value or more and less than the abnormality determination value, and updates the learning determination value by determining that the foreign matter difference is very small when the foreign matter diameter difference is less than the normality determination value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
