Abstract:

PURPOSE: To puvity exhaust gas efficiently and reduce the generation of hydrogen sulfide by containing a platinum element, active alumina, cerium oxide and germanium oxide on an integrated structure substrate.

CONSTITUTION: A platinum element such as platinum, rhodium; active alumina such as γ-alumina; and cerium oxide are contained on a substrate of integrated structure such as cordierite honeycomb substrate. Also, germanium oxide as a component for reducing the generation of hydrogen sulfide is contained. A catalyst thus manufactured removes carbon monoxide, hydrocarbon and nitrogen oxide efficiently in the exhaust gas and reduces the generation of hydrogen sulfide, and a calcinogenic substance is not formed therein.
