PURPOSE: To enhance the spring characteristics and durability of an exhaust pipe supporting device for car.

CONSTITUTION: A hanger rubber 10 has a penetrating long hole 11, intermediate through hole 12, and lower through hole 13 along the line of symmetry S in the sequence from the position near the top member. The penetrating long hole is shaped as transversely long, wherein the two ends 11a have an approx. circular shape while the middle part 11b is flat, and the intermediate through hole 12 is formed in aprox. W-shape. The horizontal portion 20c of a plate-form supporting metal piece 20 is arranged so that the two ends 20c1 has a circular section while the middle part 20c2 protrudes down a little toward the ends. When the plate-form supporting metal piece is to be fitted in the long hole, a rubber layer provided between the long hole and intermediate hole is pushed by the middle part, and thereby the gap 12a of the intermediate hole is narrowed from the condition after the rubber vulcanizing and shaping process. This lessens interference of the exhaust pipe M with other member caused by vibration of the car, heightens the spring characteristics of the exhaust pipe supporting device, and establishes an improved durability.
