Title:
FAN MOTOR COOLING CONSTRUCTION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6185214
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent invasion of rainwater into cooling wind, and to increase volume of wind by constructing an air induction pipe to an unusual shape tubular form which has a major axis to the direction of absolute velocity vector of a liquid which is blown out by the fan on air intake fan cooling construction of air-conditioning system for motorcars. CONSTITUTION:The cross sectional shape of the pipe 16, which is provided on the outside of the side wall 12 of the intake unit case, and connects the inside of the case and the fan motor through an opening 200 and a hose, which is not shown in the figure, is constructed to an unusual shape tubular form which has a major axis 27 to the direction of absolute velocity vector 22 of a liquid blown out by the fan 7 in a fan scroll 13. That is, the cross sectional shape of the pipe 16 becomes J-form across section in which a straight line, which connects the center and the summit of the opening 20, is consistent with the tangent of the fan 7. Owing to this construction, the cooling air can be induced smoothly from the opening 20 without the occurrence of vortex. Therefore, the sectional area of the opening can be smaller, and invasion of rainwater can be prevented.
