To provide a fare box capable of rapidly returning coins.
This fare box is adapted to separate coins K and tickets T inputted by a pair of ticket-money separation rollers 14 and 15, carry the separated coins K and the separated tickets T by a belt conveyor 16 having a carrying surface 16d arranged aslant, the carrying surface 16d being moved toward a transverse direction W, and separately recover them. The separated coins K are carried by the belt conveyor 16 while sliding in contact with a wall surface 27 disposed under the belt conveyor 16. The wall part 27 includes a shutter 41 having an openable and closable structure, which is is provided in a position corresponding to the carrying directional start end E1 side of the carrying surface 16d.
