PURPOSE: To adjust the tilt of a feed dog without removing hook saddles by providing a feed eccentric section for adjusting the tilt of the feed dog between a feed bar arm and a horizontal feed shaft in a feed dog adjusting mechanism having the feed bar arm sandwiched by two hook saddles.

CONSTITUTION: A feed dog 1 is screwed to a feed bar 2. The feed bar 2 is rotatably connected to a feed bar arm 3 by a feed bar shaft 4, and the rocking motion of the horizontal feed shaft 6 is transmitted. The feed bar arm 3 is sandwiched by two hook saddles 13. A feed eccentric member 5 is freely coupled with the horizontal feed shaft 6, and the base section of the feed bar arm 3 is freely coupled with the feed-eccentric member 5. When the tilt of the feed dog 1 is to be changed, screws 15, 16 of the feed bar arm 3 and the feed eccentric member 5 are loosened with a screw driver 14 to rotate the feed eccentric member 5, the feed bar arm 3 is vertically moved to properly tilt the feed dog 1, then the screws 15, 16 are again fastened. The tilt of the feed dog 1 can be adjusted without removing the hook saddles 13.
