Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a polyolefinic fiber having a glass transition temperature lower than a specific level, exhibiting excellent hydrolysis resistance, light resistance, chemical resistance and elasticity and useful for clothes, etc., by copolymerizing a cycloolefin and an α-olefin.
CONSTITUTION: The objective fiber is composed of a cycloolefinic copolymer obtained by the copolymerization of a cycloolefin and an α-olefin and having a glass-transition temperature (Tg) of ≤50°C. The objective copolymer is preferably composed of the α-olefin unit of formula I and the cycloolefin unit of formula II.
