PURPOSE: To provide a film unit with lens housing photographic film where the printing data of two bits expressing the designation of a printing range is imprinted in each frame and provided with a printing mode selection mechanism selecting one of two kinds of printing modes at low cost.

CONSTITUTION: The printing data designating the printing mode expressed as the data of two bits according to whether two rectangular dot marks are exposed or not is provided at a recording area 4a set in the photographic film 4. A first dot mark 9a which is the portion of one bit out of them is previously recorded as a latent image over entire frames before being housed in the film unit with the lens. A data recording part 39 constituting the printing mode selection mechanism is provided at the right lower part of an aperture 35. A mask 39a where a rectangular aperture is formed is provided on a side facing to the photographic film 4 of the data recording part 39, and a light emitting diode 41 is built in at the inside. The data recording part 39 records a second dot mark 9b as the latent image.
