To attain both high precision filtration for trapping and removing a material to be filtered dissolving in a molecular shape and maintenance-free filtration by automation of discharging filter residue.
A filter is provided which performs backwashing regeneration of an ion exchange resin filter medium by putting the ion exchange resin filter medium in an alternating current electric field, accelerating mass transfer and trapping of material to be filtered to a filter medium surface using Coulomb force thereby performing high precision filtration, accumulating the trapped material to be filtered as filter residue in a filter medium layer, and washing the filter medium by opening between filter media. Filtration assisted by Coulomb force enables even substances which are dissolved in a molecular shape and are far smaller than filter medium mesh opening to be trapped and separated by filtration. The filter medium is disassembled and backwashed and thereby replacement of the filter medium due to clogging is not required to attain maintenance-free filtration.
