Abstract:
To provide a method for easily producing a foam by using even a mold with a complicated and large shape, and to provide the foam obtained through the production method.
This production method comprises the steps of: preparing a molten metal 3 by melting Al or an Al alloy in a reaction vessel 1; adding calcium in the molten metal 3 and mixing them; further adding a foaming agent to the molten metal in the same reaction vessel or another reaction vessel, and mixing them by agitation 2 to prepare a not-yet-foamed molten metal or a not-yet-foaming-finished molten metal with a foaming rate of 4 times or less; and teeming it into a heated mold 6 to foam the molten metal, fill the mold with it and mold it into a predetermined shape.
