When an infinite-distance detection button is pressed, movement of a focusing lens 3 by an amount of movement smaller than the amount of movement of AF processing of normal photographic processing and imaging are repeated within a focus position proximity range corresponding to an infinite distance, the filter means for the infinite-distance position detection performs filter processing for an imaging signal obtained by the imaging, and focus detection is carried out on the basis of the contrast value of the obtained imaging signal to solve the above problem.
