Abstract:
To ensure good deformability of a packaging material without having a disadvantageous effect on a forming process and on the packaging material.SOLUTION: A forming device has a die (8) with at least one recess (10), a punch (20) for forming a packaging material (4) into the recess (10), and a hold-down device (12). The hold-down device (12) and the die (8) receive the packaging material (4) between them in a holding region. The die (8) and the hold-down device (12) each have a bearing surface (16, 18) with at least one opening (32, 36), which is in fluid communication with a fluid source (34, 38). An aerostatic bearing (28, 30) is formed between the packaging material (4) and the hold-down device (12) and between the packaging material (4) and the die (8).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
