Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide information on the subsoil in an excavation cross sectional area by forming a forward searching device out of a easing driven and inserted into the natural ground at a position forward thereof, a front boring machine, a front boring machine guide and a slide synchronous device.
CONSTITUTION: The percussing rotation of a front boring machine 25 is transmitted to an intermediate rod 24 and an excavation bit 23, and water, the air or the like is injected from the front end of the bit 23. Also, crushed sediment from the natural ground at a position forward of a tunnel boring machine is caused to flow into a easing 22 via a cutout groove formed on the external surface of a guide device 32, thereby discharging excavated sediment. In addition, even during an excavation work on the operation of a tunnel boring machine, a front boring machine guide 26 can be kept in a relative stop state in a tunnel shaft, due to the action of a slide synchronous device 27, and the front boring speed of the machine 25 can be kept at the preset value suitable for a boring work, even when a boring speed randomly changes, depending on the condition of the natural ground including the softened subsoil. Thus, various data can be accurately sampled.
