Title:
FUEL CUTOFF VALVE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3506034
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a stable valve closing characteristic without causing a play due to swelling with fuel in a fuel cutoff valve.
SOLUTION: This fuel cutoff valve 20 is attached to an upper portion of a fuel tank FT and the fuel tank FT and the outside are communicated each other or cutoff by opening/closing a connection passage 32b for connecting the inside of the fuel tank FT to the outside. The fuel cutoff valve 20 is constituted by a case body; a float; and a cap body 50. The cap body 50 is heat welded on an upper portion of the fuel tank FT and is formed by a resin material having a larger swelling property by fuel than that of the case body. The fuel cutoff valve 20 is provided with an engagement hole 54b, and engagement projection 39 and a retaining portion 38 provided on the case body and retaining the cap body 50 by abutting to an enlarged surface of the cap body 50 due to a fuel swelling of the cap body 50 as a means for assembling the cap body 50 and the case body 30.
