Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform smooth operation by preventing a lowering of residual pressure in a fuel injection pipe at the time of the completion of preliminary injection so as to prevent the omission of injection and the deviation of injection timing caused by the lowering of residual pressure.
SOLUTION: In a fuel injection device for a diesel engine, a fuel injection cam 3 of preliminary injection 1 is provided with a preliminary injection protrusion 4 of preliminary injection 1 and a main injection protrusion 5 of preliminary injection 1, and the maximum lift dimension, lifted by the preliminary injection protrusion 4, of a plunger 21 of a fuel injection pump 7 is substantially the same as the maximum lift dimension lifted by the main injection protrusion 5.
