To provide a gas barrier laminate having transparency and flexibility, excellent in gas barrier properties with respect to oxygen, steam or the like, having water resistance, heat resistance, humidity resistance and easy to manufacture.
The gas barrier laminate is constituted by laminating at least one set of a stack structure obtained by laminating transparent laminates 2, each of which has a vapor deposition thin film layer 2 comprising an inorganic oxide and a gas barrier film layer 3 formed by heating and drying a coating layer of a coating agent having at least one kind of a component among a hydroxyl group-containing polymeric compound, a metal alkoxide and/or a hydrolysate thereof and/or a polymer thereof, so as to hold a transparent plastic base material 10 with a thickness of at least 1 μm or above having a moisture absorbing and holding capacity at least on one side of a transparent plastic film base material 1 with a thickness of at least 1 μm or above.
