To provide a gear transmission for a vehicle which secures high power transmission efficiency and makes shift feeling on a gear shift operation comfortable by warming a lubricating oil quickly at the start of a vehicle.
The gear transmission for a vehicle includes a casing 2 sealed with the lubricating oil, shaft members (an input shaft 31, a counter shaft 32, an output shaft 33) journalled to the casing to transmit power, a plural sets of gear pairs (40 to 43, 45) that are provided on the shaft member, realize a predetermined gear ratio by selective meshing, and agitate at least one portion of the lubricating oil, a heat radiation member 6 which stores a latent heat accumulating material 61 that may cause a phase transition from a supercooling condition of liquid phase to a solid phase and at least part of which is immersed in the lubricating oil, and a stimulation means which gives physical stimulation to the heat radiation member 6 and causes the phase transition of the latent heat accumulating material at the start of the vehicle.
