Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0517494
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the subject new compound useful as a medicine for preventing and treating cancerous diseases such as leukemia because of low toxicity and slight side effects, having excellent carcinostatic activity.

CONSTITUTION: A glucosamine derivative shown by formula I (R1 and R3 are H or 2-20C alkanoyl with the proviso that R1 and R3 are not H at the same time; R2 is H, acetyl, etc.; R4 is 1-4C alkoxy or 5-fluorouracil-1-yl; wavy line is R configuration, S configuration or a mixture thereof) such as 3-(methyl-3,4,6- triacetyl-α-D-glucopyranose-2-yl)-1-(2-chloroethyl)-1-nitrourea. The compound, for example, is obtained by reacting a compound shown by formula III with a lower alcohol in the presence of an acid catalyst to give a compound shown by formula III (R8A is 1-4C alkoxy), then reacting the compound of formula III with an acid anhydride and 2-chloroethyl isocyanate successively and then reacting a formed compound shown by formula IV (R1A and R3A are R1; R2A is H or acetyl; R4A is R8A) with a nitrating agent.
