A power distribution device 2 includes a first planetary gear mechanism 3, a second planetary gear mechanism 4 and clutches C1, C2. In the first planetary gear mechanism 3, a sun gear 14 is connected to a first motor generator MG1, a carrier 17 is connected to an engine 11, and a ring gear 16 is connected to a driving wheel 23 in a disconnectable manner by a second clutch 2. In the second planetary gear mechanism 4, a sun gear 18 is connected to the driving wheel 23 in a disconnectable manner by a first clutch C1, the carrier 17 is connected to the engine 11, and the ring gear 16 is connected to the ring gear 16 of the first planetary gear mechanism 3. The clutches C1 and C2 are configured to be selectively connectable to at least the driving wheel 23 and to either the ring gear 16 or the sun gear 18.
