Title:
HYDROCARBON COMPOUND AND ORGANIC ELECTROLUMINESCENT ELEMENT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3792052
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an organic electroluminescent element excellent in luminous efficiency and capable of emitting light at a high luminance by making the electroluminescent element hold a layer containing a specific perylene derivative interposedly between a pair of electrodes.
SOLUTION: This electroluminescent element is obtained by holding at least one layer containing an acenaphtho[1',2'; 5,6]indeno[1,2,3- cd]benzo[5,6]indeno[1',2',3'-lm]perylene derivative, preferably a compound represented by formula II [X1 to X22 are each H, a halogen, a (substituted)alkyl, a (substituted) alkoxy, a (substituted)alkylthio, a (substituted)alkenyl or the like] (e.g. a compound represented by formula III) interposedly between a pair of electrodes. The compound represented by formula II is obtained by reacting and cyclizing a 3-(3'-benzo[k]fluorathenyl)acenaphtho[1,2-k]fluoranthene derivative represented by formula IV in the presence of an oxidizing agent [e.g. aluminum chloride/copper (II) chloride].
