To provide an image forming apparatus and a process unit, which are capable of not only applying an editing process to a recording sheet on which a sheet process that may influence to an editing process using an editing chart read on a transport path has not been applied, but also applying an editing process to a recording sheet to which the sheet process has been applied.
Image forming apparatuses 100A and 100B includes: an image-forming part 3; sheet process parts 60 and 16; a reading part 80; a main transport path 101; and a sub-transport path 79 branched therefrom. Further, the sub-transport path 79 includes: a branched sub-transport path 72; and an upper sub-transport path 59. The sheet process parts 60 and 16 are disposed on the upper sub-transport path 59. The reading part 80 is disposed on the branched sub-transport path 72. A branching section 71a where the branched sub-transport path 72 is branched from the main transport path 101 is disposed downstream, in a transport direction X, of a merging section 51b where the upper sub-transport path 59 merges with the main transport path 101.
