Abstract:

To provide an image pickup apparatus capable of reducing influence of an exposure difference at a time of shooting under a blinking light source.SOLUTION: The image pickup apparatus includes: a pixel including a photoelectric conversion unit and a first signal holding unit; acquisition means for acquiring a luminance change cycle of an object; and control means for outputting from the pixel a first image signal generated by transferring and adding the first signal charge generated and accumulated in the photoelectric conversion unit during one imaging cycle at least twice to the first signal holding unit. The control means may perform processing for determining the number of times of transfer of the first signal charge from the photoelectric conversion unit to the first signal holding unit during the one imaging cycle on the basis of the luminance change cycle.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 15
