In the image processor, an encryption key for encrypting the photographed image is stored in a non-volatile memory 56, a decoding key for decoding the encrypted image is stored in a volatile memory 52, and when there is no decoding key during decoding, either a warning is displayed or input of the decoding key is facilitated. By invalidating the volatile memory 52 to the accompaniment of turning-off of a main body power supply or passage of a predetermined period of time, input of the decoding key is required when reproducing encrypted images stored in storage media 202 and 212, so that the security of the photographed images can be protected.
