An image processing apparatus has a reading control means for controlling a scanner so that the scanner reads images by page units and outputs the images read; a memory for temporarily storing a plurality of pages of image data output from the scanner; an editing-processing section for editing the plurality of pages stored in the memory; and a file-generating section for outputting the plurality of pages of image data, after being edited by the editing-processing section as a single file. The editing processing section acquires the plurality of pages of image data stored in the memory, outputs an editing screen 55, including the plurality of pages of images allocated with page numbers in a reading order by the scanner, and executes processing, in accordance with an input into the editing screen 55. The editing screen 55 includes an order-reversing button 555 for reversing the page numbers of the plurality of pages.
