Abstract:
To reduce the frequency of change in exposure with a diaphragm during photographing of an image involving a change in blurring caused by a change of the diaphragm.SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus can install either one of a first optical system having a predetermined filter in which blurring changes due to a change in exposure or a second optical system not having the predetermined filter, and comprises: an imaging unit that picks up an image of a subject through the first optical system or the second optical system to generate an image signal; a diaphragm that adjusts the quantity of light incident on the imaging unit through the first optical system or the second optical system; and control means that controls the diaphragm to make appropriate the brightness of an image obtained from the image signal. The control means sets an upper limit and a lower limit of a range of brightness to determine whether or not the brightness of the image is appropriate, and the difference between the upper limit and the lower limit is different according to whether control of the diaphragm is on an open side or on a small diaphragm side.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
