Abstract:

To provide an Indian ink grinder which is undersize, lightweight and low-priced and can prevent an India ink from being left alone, immersed in the ink well for a long time after automatic operating suspension of the grinder.

This India ink grinder comprises an India ink retainer for retaining the India ink, an India ink grinding direction transfer mechanism for shuttling the India ink retainer back and forth in the India ink grinding direction connecting the ink well side of an inkstone with the flat height side, a first specific position detecting means 38 which detects the presence of the India ink retainer near a first specific position in a shuttle movement path, and an automatic stopping means 40 which automatically stops the India ink grinding direction transfer mechanism in the state that the India ink retainer is present near the first specific position. In addition, the India ink grinder is so constituted that the first specific position represents the position of the India ink retainer, when the India ink is located in a specific position on the flat height side of the inkstone.
