To provide an indoor unit for an air conditioner capable of suppressing decline in heat exchange efficiency when drain water is discharged by a drain pan.
A seal member 7 is arranged to come into contact with both of the upper surface of the drain pan 6 and a lower portion of a heat exchanger 5 and has water permeability. The upper surface of the drain pan 6 includes a lower upstream portion 6b and an upper downstream portion 6a including the portion with which the seal member 7 is brought into contact. At least part of the heat exchanger 5 is located in an upper space above the upper downstream portion 6a. The length of the portion where the drain pan 6 is brought into contact with the seal member 7 includes a long portion and a short portion in the air flowing direction in upper face view.
