To provide such a management method for file, which uses an information management table formed by hierarchically combining tables having problems associated with visibility etc., of storage information in a list although information management having the number of items unlimited can be performed, that an icon of storage information can be speedily taken out and stored and a hierarchical configuration of a table can be reconfigured.

The method includes repeating a step of defining one cell in an information management table with a hierarchical configuration as a first "current cell", and identifying a related index word array as data to be referred to simultaneously with data in the "current cell" in the table where the "current cell" is present according to an arrangement rule of entry data in the table, and a step of identifying an "arrangement destination table" where an icon representing file data of the table where the "current cell" is present is pasted and an "arrangement destination cell" therein, and replacing the identified "arrangement destination cell" with a new "current cell" under the condition that a next "arrangement destination table" is obtained.
