To provide an information providing system, mobile terminal, radio access point, charging server and information providing method, in which information contents relating to a communicable area can be easily acquired when the mobile terminal is located within the communicable area of the radio access point.

When a mobile terminal 10 enters an area wherein information can be received, the mobile terminal displays on a screen of a display section 14 that the mobile terminal enters the information acquirable area. When a user of the mobile terminal operates the mobile terminal 10 to select a predetermined area on said display, an acquisition request of information contents is transmitted to an information providing server 30 via a network 40. In response to the acquisition request from the mobile terminal 10, the information providing server 30 distributes the information contents to the mobile terminal 10.
