PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink composition for inkjet recording excellent in properties of an inkjet ink, required for recent inkjet recording methods, especially reduction of odor of the inkjet ink, member aptitude of an inkjet heat and an inkjet recording device and capable of satisfying requirements such as discharge stability or intermittent discharge property of the inkjet ink, blocking resistance or dryness of a printed matter at same time.SOLUTION: There is provided an ink composition for inkjet recording, containing at least a coloring material, a resin and a solvent represented by the general formula (1) and having content of impurities derived from the solvent of less than 1.0 mass% in total amount of the solvent. R-(OR)-O-R(1), where n:an integer of 1 to 4, R:an alkyl group which may be branched and has 1 to 8 carbon atoms, R:an alkylene which may be branched and has 1 to 4 carbon atoms, and R:hydrogen or an alkyl group which may be branched and has 1 to 4 carbon atoms.SELECTED DRAWING: None
