Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make additionally writable and displayable with excellent visibility additionally writing on a display means even though without power supply or the like, by deflecting a display means by pressing from a visible side of a display screen, generating an electric field at the position of a display screen and changing the displayed state.
SOLUTION: Making use of a stylus pen 5 fixed to an earthing potential from a surface of a liquid crystal display panel 2, informations such as characters and graphic forms are written and input of informations is executed. Then, regarding the pressed positions, sheet like piezoelectric elements 3 arranged in a state of layers on the rear side of displayed elements change into a downward projecting shape together with the display elements 2. Inversely proportional to a raduius of curvature of this deformed part, an electric charge based on a polarization P is generated, and an electric field is formed between the pressed position and a tip of the stylus pen 5 fixed to the earthing potential for writing characters or the like. Resultantly, regarding the display elements, an orientation state of a ferroelectric liquid crystal changes only on the part to which the electric field is applied, so that on this liquid crystal display panel 2 an image information is displayed in accordance with an orbit written by the stylus pen 5.
