Abstract:
To provide a piston of an internal combustion engine that reduces unburned gas remaining between a side wall of the piston of the internal combustion engine and a cylinder and that improves fuel economy performance and emission performance.SOLUTION: In a piston of an internal combustion engine 1 that slides in a cylinder 30 of the internal combustion engine and is equipped with a piston ring 51, through-holes 60 and 60' are provided so as to communicate upper surface ports 61 and 61' provided on an upper surface 4a of the piston 4, and side portion ports 62 and 62' provided on a side wall 43A above the piston ring of the piston opposite to a cylinder inner peripheral wall 30a of the cylinder.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
