Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inverter device which can realize large capacity, low loss, high reliability and size reduction at the same time by using large capacity self-extinguishing semiconductor devices.
SOLUTION: Energy stored in the current changing rate suppressing device groups 9a-9b of a 2-level or 3-level inverter bridge is recovered by recovering capacitors 11a-11c and regenerated to a DC voltage circuit 1 by an energy regenerative circuit 12. The energy regenerative circuit controls the charging currents of the recovering capacitor in proportion to the value of a load current. When a plurality of inverter bridges are connected to the same DC voltage circuit, the plurality of inverter bridges are divided into a plurality of groups, different energy regenerative circuits are connected to the inverter bridges of the respective groups, and the respective energy regenerative circuits regenerate energy to the DC voltage circuit.
