To prevent theft of items housed in lockable fixtures after unlocking.SOLUTION: An item provision device includes: an identification unit that identifies, among a plurality of lockable doors of a fixture for storing items, a door for taking out an item specified by a customer based on item information indicating the item specified by the customer; a detection unit that detects a number of persons around the identified door; and an instruction unit that maintains the locking of the specified door when the detected number of persons is more than one, and instructs the unlocking of the specified door when the detected number of persons is one.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
