To provide a karaoke system which displays a background picture when a user sings along karaoke, with the karaoke system improving advertisement effects by making the accompanying persons etc., view the contents of an advertisement effect picture, even if the singer is singing and also giving them an incentive to buy advertised objects.

The advertisement effect picture, associated with a selected musical piece, is displayed as a background picture on a display means 45 where lyrics character data in singing are displayed, and all the advertisement effect pictures, corresponding to selected musical pieces by users are stored as history in a user history storage means 52. Display files, for relating and listing all the advertisement items that have been stored advertisement effect pictures contain, while corresponding access servers are made accessible, are generated by a display file generating means 38, user by user, and are displayed through a remote input/output terminal 14.
