Abstract:
PURPOSE: To enhance cooling efficiency, reduce circumferential temperature difference, and improve lamp life by providing slit grooves and notch grooves of a heat sink so that their divided number corresponds to the number of support electrodes extending radially from the discharge electrode of a lamp, and conforming the outer circumferential side position of the support electrode which becomes a high temperature to the contact position to the heat sink.
CONSTITUTION: One slit groove 5 and a plurality of notch grooves 6, 7 notched while leaving a partial connecting part are formed radially to the support hole 3 of a heat sink 2. The slit groove and the notch grooves are formed by the magnification of 3 in total, a fastening means 9 is arranged, and an xenon lamp is held in the state where its support electrodes are situated nearly in the middle between the slit groove and the notch grooves.
